Ingredients:
- 500 gm chicken
- 1 tbsp ginger,garlic paste
- 1tbsp curd
- 1/2tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tsp dhania(coarinder) powder
- 4 onions
- 1 tomato
- 2 tsp zeera
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 6 cashews(optional).
- 4 tbsp oil
- salt to taste
Method:
- Clean chicken pieces.add curd,turmeric powder,ginger-garlic paste,chilli and dhania powder and 1tsp salt.Mix well,leave to marinate for 15 mins.
- Peel and cut 3 onions & 2 tomatoes.
- In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil add zeera ,poppy seeds & pepper.When it is roasted remove to a plate.
- To the same pan add onion saute for a few mins,then add tomatoes saute for afew more mins.
- Grind this with cashews & zeera mix to a fine paste.
- In a cooker heat 2tbsp oil add 1 bay leaf,1 inch piece cinnamon & 1 green elaichi saute for a min.Add 1 onion cut saute till it becomes transparent.
- Add marinated chicken pieces and saute till the color changes.
- Add ground masala paste & enough water to make a gravy consistency.Bring to boil.
- Close cooker cook on medium flame for 5-7 mins.
- Serve garnished with coariander & curry leaves.
