CHICKEN CURRY

CHICKEN CURRY
Ingredients:
  • 500 gm chicken
  • 1 tbsp ginger,garlic paste
  • 1tbsp curd
  • 1/2tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp dhania(coarinder) powder
  • 4 onions
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 tsp zeera
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 6 cashews(optional).
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

Method:

  • Clean chicken pieces.add curd,turmeric powder,ginger-garlic paste,chilli and dhania powder and 1tsp salt.Mix well,leave to marinate for 15 mins.
  • Peel and cut 3 onions & 2 tomatoes.
  • In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil add zeera ,poppy seeds & pepper.When it is roasted remove to a plate.
  • To the same pan add onion saute for a few mins,then add tomatoes saute for afew more mins.
  • Grind this with cashews & zeera mix to a fine paste.
  • In a cooker heat 2tbsp oil add 1 bay leaf,1 inch piece cinnamon & 1 green elaichi saute for a min.Add 1 onion cut saute till it becomes transparent.
  • Add marinated chicken pieces and saute till the color changes.
  • Add ground masala paste & enough water to make a gravy consistency.Bring to boil.
  • Close cooker cook on medium flame for 5-7 mins.
  • Serve garnished with coariander & curry leaves.
